At a macro level, the significant benefits of ABW environments aren’t clear. At a micro level however, the image is different. The overall data masks a dramatically diverse picture showing how ABW environments deliver significant performance improvements for employees who modify behaviours to their new surroundings. But almost always, these employees are dramatically outnumbered by those who maintain distinctly traditional workstyles, putting them in conflict with their new environment.
