In 2020, Mölnlycke Health Care launched a Leesman survey at a time when the pandemic had cast doubt on the very purpose of the office. By combining data-driven insight, deep employee involvement, standout design, and the ambitious target of Leesman+ certification, they have created a headquarters people are genuinely proud of. Using insights gathered during the pandemic about both home working and the limitations of their previous office, the team designed a future-ready, activity-based workplace centred on collaboration, flexibility, and high-quality environments.
Crucially, this included a deliberate move away from fully open-plan space, with the use of walls, curtains, heavy doors, and enhanced acoustic treatments, such as sound-absorbing walls and thickened ceilings, to carefully control noise and support focused work alongside collaboration.
Continuous employee engagement ensured strong participation and alignment, while data informed the decisions on everything from room types to environmental quality. The result is an HQ that supports innovation, attracts people back to the office, and has significantly increased employee pride and satisfaction, as well as outstanding noise satisfaction levels, demonstrating how robust workplace data can translate directly into measurable experience and performance gains.
